Description
This striking mid-century fine art piece is an original oil on board still life painting titled "Flowering Quince and Turquoise Porcelain." The composition highlights a classical Orientalist aesthetic, showcasing a vibrant collection of pink flowering quince branches gracefully arranged inside a tall, high-gloss turquoise blue porcelain vase. The main vase is flanked by an assortment of traditional Asian export table wares, including a matching iridescent ceramic bowl, a small sake cup, and an elegant fine china teacup and saucer decorated with traditional painted court figures. The entire arrangement rests upon a draped white tablecloth beautifully patterned with soft floral sprigs, set against a deep, moody olive-green background that makes the vibrant jewel tones of the pottery pop. The artwork is housed within an incredibly luxurious, heavily molded gold and reddish-brown baroque frame accented by deep corner scrollwork and an ornate inner gold leaf liner, making it an excellent, gallery-ready statement piece for estate collectors.
