"MANCHESTER SILVER COMPANY - Founded in 1887 William H. Manchester as W.H. Manchester & Co. in Providence, RI. The company was renamed Manchester Mfg. Co. from 1904-1914 (using the logo later used by Baker-Machester Mfg. Co) and in 1915, the name changed to Manchester Silver Co. In the mid-1950's, the company acquired the dies and rights to the flatware patterns of Richard Dimes Co. When silver prices spiked in 1980, the firm announced it would be liquidated.
