Description

Southwest Spanish Craftsmen San Gregorio Dining Table by Ernest Thompson, circa 1988. The Southwest Spanish Craftsmen collection dates back to the 1920s. The design traces to 1821 when Mexico gained independence from Spain and opened its borders to trade. This beautiful example was custom made in 1988 and includes original singed blueprints from January and March of 1988. The design draws parallels with Spanish Revival styling and features a large rectangular frame made from mahogany with a carved edge over robust barley twisted legs and bun feet. The table has two leaves and opens via a draw leaf style mechanism that pull out from each end. The table is made from solid mahogany using mortise and tenon joinery. A remarkable piece of craftsmanship that will draw attention to any space
