Description

Rare and Impressive antique 19th century Jacobean Revival Orme & Sons billiards / snooker / pool scoreboard. Made of oak featuring domed top with turned posts and locking storage compartments / cabinets / drawers.

Orme and Sons were one of the most important billiard table manufacturers in England. The company was founded in 1848, and but during the Great Depression they first amalgamated their distribution with Burroughs & Watts in 1931, before finally disappearing later on in the 1930s.

The game of Life Pool can be played by a number of players, a maximum of 12 players with this scoreboard, who form the pool. Each player has their own coloured ball and loses a life each time the ball is potted by an opponent. When three lives are lost an extra life can be purchased, this is represented by the 'star'. This can be done up to 3 times before the player finally has to leave the game.
