The surface showcases intricate, multi-toned wood marquetry consisting of ebony, walnut and fruitwood. At the center is a geometric medallion surrounded by elegant foliate scrollwork, contrasting borders, and stylized, foliate Green Man or grotesque Northwind faces meticulously inlaid at each corner. Functioning with a space-saving tilt-top mechanism, the square surface is hinged to a heavy structural wood cleat system underneath, complete with its original brass latch assembly that allows the top to flip vertically for storage. This upper assembly is supported by a robust, baluster-shaped turned mahogany pedestal column featuring clean ring turnings, which flows seamlessly into a steady tripod base of three sweeping cabriole legs ending in simple block feet.
