About Achiel Van de Voorde: Achiel (Achille) Van de Voorde (1875-1959) was a Flemish potter who received his artistic training at both the Bruges and Antwerp Art Academies. Van de Voorde specialized in figurative earthenware with folklore themes. After the First World War, his pottery enjoyed success producing ceramic tourist souvenirs depicting, among others, spinners, seamstresses, milkmen, and lace makers.
