Description
This large, late 20th-century custom-made English Georgian / Regency style walnut breakfront features a classic four-door configuration showcasing premium woodwork inspired by traditional English cabinetry. The upper display section consists of four expansive glass doors with elegant, geometric leaded astragal glazing bars that open to reveal height-adjustable wooden shelving. Below the molded cornice, the base section is built with a prominent stepped-forward center, housing four inline drawers over four corresponding lower cabinet doors that open to open-shelf storage compartments. The drawer fronts and lower doors feature raised panels of rich, figured burl walnut veneer with a deep, swirling organic grain pattern. Each burl panel is meticulously framed by fine herringbone feather-banding and outer cross-banded borders, accented by polished brass swan-neck drop handles and key-operated locks. Built with exceptional structural integrity, the case piece features cleanly machined, tight dovetail drawer joints, a fully finished multi-paneled wood back backing, and heavy brass door hardware including interior stamped brass latch locks marked United Kingdom.
