This authentic late Victorian oval serving platter produced between 1891 and 1914 by W.H. Grindley & Co. at the Newfield Pottery in Tunstall, Staffordshire, England. Framed by a uniquely scalloped and dot-embossed outer rim, the ironstone body features an asymmetrical layout of trailing climbing roses, rosebuds, and scrolling acanthus foliage in a deeply saturated cobalt "Flow Blue" transferware technique. The underglaze blue backstamp on the base verifies its provenance, displaying a top banner naming the pattern over Grindley's signature global commerce symbol—a globe topped by a steamship clipper—and anchored by the prominent initials "F B" to explicitly designate the piece as a true Flow Blue creation.
