Description

An exquisite French Directoire Bureau Plat or Library Table, Circa 1920. Features a rectangular form made from kingwood with a black tooled leather top framed in thick bronze with two large pull-out work surface along each side. The kingwood frieze is accented by marquetry panels of birdseye maple and tulipwood in a diamond shaped pattern accented by florets. Includes two ribbonned bronze mounted dovetailed drawers with central wreath ring pulls flanked by ormolu mounted curtain swags along each corner. The desk is supported by square tapered legs with bronze capped feet. A timeless sophisticated design that will add grandeur to any space.
