Description

Set of eight antique Art Deco Baltimore / Schofield & Woodside sterling silver 925 bread and butter plates featuring a ribbed / fluted edge design. Marks on base include a W with wreath, ed on base 1319, 3093.

Schofield sterling silver (Baltimore, MD) is primarily marked with STERLING or 925/1000. Early pieces (1903–1905) feature a B lion / dragon head S mark for Baltimore Silversmiths, while later pieces (post-1905, Heer-Schofield) often used a H-lion's head-S hallmark.

Woodside Sterling Co. was an American manufacturer of high-quality sterling silver holloware, vanity items, and novelties based in New York and Newark, NJ, operating roughly between 1895 and the 1920s. Known for pieces featuring intricate, Art Nouveau, or pierced designs, the company was eventually taken over by R.W. Woods before closing.
