Antique Ice Chest sold by Belknap Hardware circa 1919. Made quartersawn oak with a stout rectangular frame featuring four doors, original brass hardware and paneled sides. Interior has been retrofitted for use as a storage cabinet with green felt lined shelves that are removable. Includes antique cast iron ice block tongs.
Belknap Hardware was a major, family-owned hardware distributor in Louisville, Kentucky, founded in 1840 by William Burke Belknap, that operated for over 140 years before going bankrupt in 1986.
