Description

2004 oil on canvas painting by Mirta Cwirko depicting a trio of dancers with layered skirts and feathers in their hair under the light of a hanging lamp. Signed and dated along right edge. Un-framed.

"Mirta Elena Cwirko was born in Argentina (Córdoba Capital), on May 14, 1951. She is of Polish and Italian descent. Graduated from the "Plastic Arts" program at the Provincial School of Fine Arts "Dr. José Figueroa Alcorta" in 1986 (Córdoba Capital - Argentine Republic). She has lived in Santa Cruz, Bolivia since October 1989. "Creativity is an effort, says Mirta, it requires a lot of personal strength to control that energy that springs from the hands." Her paintings are a reflection of her creative desire, in which she mixes different elements such as wood, fabric, tacks, iron or dry logs. "I think that everything helps me to be able to communicate what I feel. Human pain, migrants, motherhood or childhood are topics that normally overwhelm me and fill my eyes with tears. So I took the colors and let the horse runaway." (Translated from Bolivianet)
