Description

Circa mid 20th century tetramorph crucifix. Wood base overlaid with embossed brass plates representing the Four Evangelists - Mathaeus, Markus, Lukas, and Johannes- the authors attributed to the four Gospels in the Christian Bible. Matthew is represented with a winged man, Luke a winged bull, Mark a winged lion, and John an eagle. These images surround the traditional crucified body of Jesus and INRI plaque.
