Very fine and impressive George III Period Linen Press, c. 1790s. A rectangular form made from ""Plum Pudding"" Mahogany. Features a two over three drawer chest base with serpentine lower apron, flared legs and brass knocker hardware. Hutch portion includes molded panel doors and opens to four large linen drawers. Drawers are crafted from solid oak with hand dovetailed construction.

Plum pudding mahogany or Acajou is a very rare form of mahogany that resembles birdseye maple with large drips, or streaks running down the board. The look resembles raisins in plum pudding. It is predominantly used in fine period furniture and joinery
Condition
Good antique condition with some age related wear and distressing. Most notably marks/ staining to the right and left lower sides of case.
