Description

Wallace Knox Wilkinson, Jr. b.1954-2016 (age 62). Painted with a combination of Gouch painting and perminent marker. Known for his expressionist style, paint and marker on paper, this folk art piece features the main living space of a large house.

Knox was born in Floyd County, June 12, 1954, son of Wallace Knox Wilkinson, Sr. and the Vera Irene Pilgrim Wilkinson. He was a graduate of East Rome High School and was a member of Rome First Presbyterian Church.

Knox was a nationally acclaimed Folk Artist. The world was his canvas and everyone wanted to be a brush stroke in that painting. His character emerged from the form. He was a simple person with sophisticated ideas. He painted smiles on everyone he met. He molded hearts that otherwise may never have known the true meaning of unconditional love. Art is heroic. It defines the character of the subject and artist. A perfect Masterpiece.
