A gorgeous piece for any library or office setting. Made from walnut with extensive carvings. The large desk top is framed in gadrooning. For those who are unfamiliar; Gadrooning is a decorative motif consisting of convex curves in a series.
The front of the desk shows a knee-hole and upper drawer flanked by matchbook veneered outer cabinets. Each outer cabinet shows high relief carvings, featuring Victorian & Renaissance inspired faces, crest with sword and dagger and other floral motifs. An absolutely beautiful adornment for an amazing work of craftmanship. The desk is supported by four five toe paw feet, and features a bookcase along the front side. The drawers are dovetailed, and interior has a secret compartment on each side. The perfect statement for any room.
