Circa 1930's No.70 Instructors Desk with four drawers by Columbia School Supply. The top was made of five-ply built up quartered oak with oak drawers. Legs and body are made of steel. Offered in 1930 in their catalog for $19.75.
Columbia School Supply Company out of Indianapolis, Indiana coined themselves as the first manufacturers of steel school furniture. The company opened in 1895 and remained in the business until the middle of the 20th century specializing in these types of pieces.
