Description

A beautiful set of four antique English dining chairs. Circa 19th Century. Made from oak with hand carved details. The chairs feature a split back with leather support and cushions between a turned barley twist design. This design continues down through the legs to intricately carved paw feet over casters. Along the back of each chair the North Wind Face can be seen fixed between finials. A design that became popular in England in the 18th and 19th century as whimsical furniture began to sweep through towns as it made its way across the Atlantic. The North Wind face is said to be seen whispering from the back of chairs as it blows wooden tendrils of wind from its mouth. The chair is supported through an H stretcher on the base. Leather back and seat are pinned with brass nail-head trim. An incredible set that will make for great conversation in any setting.

These chairs will be hand delivered via White Glove Service
