Description

An amazing Art Deco era trunk by Roose Cedar Chests. Roos manufacturing co was established in 1871 by Edward Roos. He was born in Germany in 1848 and died in 1906. His children carried on his legacy until the early mid 20th century.

This chest is made from Walnut with beautifully match-booked veneer. C.1920s. A blend of Elizabethan and Jacobean style with baluster legs and a trestle base. The front features a medieval design with a colorful shield like crest mirrored and flanked by griffons. Trim is gadrooned and upper lid has a neat flourish. The trunk is lockable, and cedar lined. The design elements of this piece are remarkable, and they even went one step further to allow for removal of the legs in the event that you prefer it to be flush to the floor. A true testament of thoughtful craftsmanship. An overall gorgeous piece that will make a great addition to any setting.
