Description
A gorgeous Shaw Walker executive desk and waste basket from the Doten-Dunton Desk Company. Doten-Dunton Desk Company was a premier office furniture manufacturer out of Boston, Massachusetts. The company's roots go back to 1902, but it did not become popular until after the Baltimore fire in 1908. The Baltimore & Ohio R.R. was moving to a new building, and it was Mr. Dunton that they relied upon for his Sanitary base desk. From here on out the company flourished.
Shaw-Walker began it's history in 1903, so its only fitting that the the two would later collaborate on furniture.
The piece at hand is made from walnut with a beautiful two tone match-book veneer top. Each side has 4 turned legs that lead to bun feet. The legs are connected front to back through a doubletrestle. Features 8 dovetailed drawers pressed with the Doten-Dunton insignia at the base. Along the lower left is a file drawer. The waste basket is matching with the Doten-Dunton insignia along the bottom. A fantastic pairing that will look great in any office space.
