An amazing Ming style coffee table. Circa 1850-1899, China. Made from solid Elm wood, in natural distressed finish with mortise and tenon joints. This jointhas been used for thousands of years to connect furniture at a 90 degree angle. Indicative of ancientChinesecraftsmenwork. Along the front are 3 long hand dovetailed drawers with brass hardware. There is a false space beneath the drawers that can be used to stash or hide valuables.
