Diane Velasco received aBachelor of Fine Arts fromPratt Institutein Brooklyn, NY. Her paintings were well received at the popularEast Hall Gallery. She also studied a semester abroad in Florence, Italy.She went on to win Honorable Mention in theHazleton Art Leaguestatewide art competition in Pennsylvania, where her works were displayed at theHazleton Art League Gallery. Diane also won fifth place in the prestigious, international7th Annual Pastel 100 Competitionand was featured in the 2006 April issue ofThePastel Journalmagazine. More recently, she placed first and third placein theCharlottesville-Albemarle Art Association’s annual juried shows.Diane has worked as a graphic designer, illustrator, and fine artist throughout her careerand currently resides in the foothills of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains in Cental Virginia.
