An 18th century painting featuring an old man sitting in the nude with blanket or sheets covering him. He is in the thinking position with right hand drawn towards his beard. Left hand on his lap holding a booklet.
Painting is on canvas. Signed along the lower right. Framed in wood with gesso along the front in gold finish.
