Description

Robert Rasell was active and lived in the United Kingdom. His time of birth and death are unknown, however most of his painting can be attributed to the 1860's-80s.

This piece depicts a Victorian scene with a Noblewoman, possibly a queen playing the guitar with 2 gentleman by her side. She can be seen sitting on a bench under a tree. The edge of a large building is off in the distance. The color and detail are astonishing with his signature uniquely placed as a label on her book of sheet music. The canvas shows age and spotting along the back with a stretch indicative of its age. Framed in wood with ornately gilt medallions over gesso. A great addition to any collection

Condition

The piece shows some signs of use and age. This is seen on the front with some paint loss around the woman and crackling. Additional paint loss in the bottom right corner as well as a piece of the medallion missing on top of the frame.See Pictures for best descript
