Description
Refinished oak with elaborate walnut book page veneering. Molded front feet, four dovetailed lower drawers, including one in the base, plus an additional drawer in the cornice. The interior features bird's-eye maple veneering on eight drawers including two that are hidden. A scalloped open niche above. Veneer splits and restorations from time and use. The base drawer is missing veneer. Replaced lower side molding and later support chains have been added to the writing surface. Marble Top
Condition
Good antique condition with some use related wear. Please see the above description. There have been restorations and repairs done over time. The hidden drawers on the inside of the writing area no longer catch the lock, so they stick out slightly. Could be repaired by a professional. In addition the right side of the piece has a split on it and one of the brass fitings is missing on one drawer. Please see all of the photos for a detailed description
